In this research project, I focused on the construction of national identity in early childhood education and studied issues regarding the national 'others' in the daily practice of early childhood teachers and the speech of students. Specifically, through this project I sought to: a) explore, record and analyse the ways in which infants perceive, imagine, conceptualise and speak about national 'others',

b) analyse the content of formal knowledge about national 'others', c) to explore the educational practices through which this knowledge is transmitted and acquired, as well as the ways in which students perceive it, and d) to propose different approaches to teaching and learning regarding national 'others'.
